Winners of the InfoCamere Data-Driven Innovation Challenge

In the historic setting of the Mathematics Department of the Sapienza University in Rome, the MAT/LAV event was held, a day dedicated to the connection between the academic world and the business sector, with the goal of opening doors for mathematics students to new and exciting professional opportunities. Deix, confirming its commitment to promoting innovation and research, had the honor of participating in this important initiative, along with other significant entities like e-GEOS, Thales, Iconsulting, and BIP.

During the event, Jacopo Corno, Head of Business Solutions at Deix, had the opportunity to present our company, offering the attendees a detailed look at the research and development activities that characterize Deix. The MAT/LAV event represented a unique occasion for mathematics students to get closer to the world of work, discovering how the skills acquired during their academic journey can be applied in concrete, innovative, and challenging projects. Deix, with its participation, wanted to emphasize the importance of a solid bridge between universities and industry, essential to foster a fertile exchange of ideas and skills.

Furthermore, some potential master's thesis proposals were presented, offering students the chance to collaborate on cutting-edge projects ranging from generative AI and LLMs to the most sophisticated optimization techniques. Combining Technology and Sustainability to Create the Cities of the Future

Jacopo Corno, Head of Business Solutions at Deix, participated in a focus group as part of the European Desire project, which aims to transform the green transition into an irresistible and desirable reality. The event, organized by PlusValue at the MIND area (Milan Innovation District), provided a unique platform for professionals from various sectors to discuss and jointly design the city of the future.

The Desire project, part of the New European Bauhaus initiative of the European Commission, aims to bridge the gap between art, culture, education, science, and technology in the green transition. With the goal of engaging a new generation of green-social builders and artists, Desire adopts five design principles for the green transition: Circularity, Belonging, Biodiversity, Movement, and Aesthetics

In the context of the focus group, Deix played a fundamental role, highlighting how emerging technologies can be vital in data collection and analysis, in creating multimodal experiences, and in promoting a more sustainable and attractive environment.

A central theme that emerged during the focus group was the need to return to co-design. This collaborative approach, which combines different skills and experiences, is crucial for creating spaces that meet the needs of everyone. Deix emphasized the importance of integrating digital technology in this process, to ensure that the cities of the future. The event laid the groundwork for future collaborations between experts in urban planning, architecture, sustainable mobility, hospitality, and technology.

Our goal? To revolutionize maritime traffic monitoring. How? We attended the Open Innovation Day event at the House of Emerging Technologies of the Municipality of Bologna, and came back rich with new connections and inspirations.

Along with 9 other selected startups, we had the opportunity to interact with several corporations. It was an exceptional occasion to showcase Deix's distinctive competencies in Artificial Intelligence and Optimization, and to explore potential future collaborations.

We thank ART-ER, who organized the event, for this fantastic opportunity and everyone who participated and shared their vision and experiences with us.

We are excited to share the wonderful experience we had at the 14th National Research Exchange Forum in Catania, held at the enchanting Monastery of the Benedictines. The Monastery provided an incredibly picturesque setting for an event that lived up to expectations and then some.

But what truly made this edition of the Forum unforgettable was the opportunity to meet and connect with many exceptional companies and professionals. The carefully planned one-to-one meetings before the event served as a springboard for deep and meaningful discussions. We were able to share our experiences, discover new perspectives, and create connections that could open incredible doors for the future. It was truly inspiring to see the innovative potential in our country, and the Forum was the fertile ground to nurture it.

**Introduction to Methods for Nonlinear Optimization**

This book has two main objectives :
- to provide a concise introduction to nonlinear optimization methods, which can be used as a textbook at a graduate or upper undergraduate level;
- to collect and organize some important topics on optimization algorithms, not easily found in textbooks, which can provide material for advanced courses or can serve as a reference text for self-study and research.

**Complementi di Matematica**

*G. Liuzzi, M. Sciandrone - Hoepli, 2023*

Designed for undergraduate students in engineering programs, "Complements of Mathematics" introduces fundamental mathematical concepts for the study of properties of sets in n-dimensional Euclidean space and functions of multiple real variables.

The approach taken diverges significantly from the traditional one, allowing students to engage with algorithmic mathematics geared towards modeling and numerically solving real-world problems.
